Thank you to all that applied for the 2017-2018 Niagara Centre Youth Council. Please follow here for updates on what the council is doing.
I was thrilled to meet with the 2017-2018 Niagara Centre Youth Council for the first time. We have a great council made up of youth from ages 15-24, from Port Colborne, Thorold, Welland, and St. Catharines. Each of these individuals will bring with them, unique life experiences. We’re looking forward to an informative year, working on projects that can impact our community.
On November 17, 2017, the Niagara Centre Youth Council met for the second time at Brock University. We had an in depth discussion about diversity in our society, and what things, either big or small, we can do to foster inclusion. We also had time to discuss environmentalism and how there are many projects and programs that we can utilize to move towards being more eco-friendly. Details about the project they will be working on is coming up, so stay tuned!
On February 23, 2018, the Niagara Centre Youth Council met for the third time at Brock University. We had an in depth discussion about diversity their upcoming projects! The first project that the council will be working on is a meet and greet music night at Black Sheep Lounge on March 16! It is highly recommended that those who attend bring a non-perishable food item. Additionally, the council is planning a bowling fundraiser coming in May!
