I was happy to be back in Niagara Centre for the weekend in order to kickoff Canada 150. Having events in each city within the riding allowed me to meet and speak with members of the community.
The weekend kicked off in Port Colborne at the market on friday morning. It turned into a beautiful sunny day for my team to join me in giving out Canada 150 Flags, Canada/Canada 150 Pins, as well as cupcakes made by Heartbeat Cafe! I was happy to see so many people drop by, and to have the chance to walk around the market and see the different vendors.
Friday afternoon, I was able to join the Thorold Seniors Centre for the senior of the year award! It was great to be able to stop and talk with everyone, as well as be a part of the award presentation. Congratulations Wendy!
The final event of the weekend was at the saturday morning Welland Farmer’s Market. My constituency office staff joined me in handing out Canada 150 flags and Canada Flag Pins, as well as delicious Canada cupcakes made by Holy Trinity Church! It was a great opportunity to be able to be out in the community speaking with everyone. I even had the opportunity to hop behind the counter at Country Corner Market to serve up some meats!
